Are you having a hard time matching your skin color with
Luminess Air Foundations? Not getting that correct shade or the
makeup looks too dark or too light.
This is SIMPLE to SOLVE: Step 1- Please locate all of the
Foundation shades in your starter kit. See the bottom of the
bottles. Foundation shades are designated with an “F” prefix.
Example: “F-3” or “F-7”. Step 2- Shake all the bottles extremely
well for a minimum of 30 seconds before first application;
shaking will activate the makeup system for use. Step 3- Please
apply a sample by hand of all four shades on your forearm (Skin
on the forearm tends to be a very close match to your face);
place droplets on your skin and then smear into skin to reveal
color. Step 4- Select the closest shade. Please note that if
none of the shades match then pick the closest of what you have
and watch what happens when you airbrush. Step 5- Place 3-4
drops of the selected shade into the airbrush cup. Step 6-
Gently spray on your opposite forearm. **IMPORTANT** Please
spray an extremely light/delicate coat, we are not spraying
furniture or a wall, this is your skin, make it beautiful by
applying super-fine, VERY LIGHT coats which are barely
detectable to the eye. Then layer a second and third coat using
the lightest possible spray pressure. NEVER-“Gun” the airbrush
by spraying with the throttle pulled all the way back! If you
are pulling-back all the way on the airbrush throttle then you
are spraying TOO HARD! Pull any further and you will produce a
very thick unattractive coat. Go light with your coverage and
then re-coat 1 to 3 additional times. RESULT- The result will be
Guaranteed impressive. The color will look to have magically
blended into your skin. Also, you may contact one of our agents
and we will walk you through these steps even if it means
sending you a lighter or darker shade of foundation.
Not getting a desirable feel on your face- “My skin feels
strange to the touch, I feel a build-up that I don’t desire.
What can I do to get that flaw-less look? And I don’t want to
feel the makeup on my skin.”
EASY TO FIX! First time users tend to apply more makeup than is
required. Go light- Go Slow! Liquid foundation can look
extremely “Caked-on” if applied heavily and dry mineral makeup
can look flaky and “Dusty or Crusty”.
Airbrushing tends to give the ultimate finish and the secret is
to apply using very fine coats. Step 1- Keep your airbrush “one
airbrush stylus length” or 6” away from your face. This allows
for more even distribution of makeup and eliminates build-up.
Step 2- Apply very sheer fine delicate coats by barely pulling
back on your stylus (never pull back beyond 1/3 of the way back
on the throttle and if you are pulling back all the way, you are
spraying WAY TOO HARD and will NOT get the look you desire).
Delicate, Delicate, Delicate is the mantra of Airbrushing!!!
Chances are that too much makeup is being applied too quickly.
Step 3- Go extremely slow the first couple of times. You will
become extremely efficient and fast at airbrushing but you must
perfect the art of applying fine delicate coats.
RESULT- Fine delicate layers of application will never result in
build-up, your makeup should look natural and never artificial
which results in an unpleasant feel on your skin or to the
touch.
The application of makeup looks blotchy and uneven. How can I
get an even distribution EASILY!
EASY TO FIX! Remember the first time you spray-painted? Spray
cans have an explosive uncontrollable force while airbrush
empowers you with maximum control. You are not spraying
furniture or a wall so go extremely light. You want very fine
layers and Go light- Go slow! The throttle on the stylus is in
your control and many first time users tend to yank the throttle
all the way back resulting in very bad, blotchy and overall
extremely unattractive results. Try this: Step 1- Shake the
makeup bottle to insure that your foundation is well mixed. Step
2- Select your shade and add a couple of drops into stylus. Step
3- Little goes a long way. The airbrush stylus has a throttle
button which works much like the “gas pedal” on your car. We
typically NEVER PULL BACK ALL THE WAY, just as you rarely
“floor” the gas pedal on your car. Just a gentle touch (about
1/4 to 1/2 of the way is all you need.) Barely pull back on the
button until you start getting the most delicate spray. Step 4-
You need to keep your hand moving constantly. Move fast with
your hand. Spray a very delicate coat and never apply makeup to
one spot only as this will give that “blotchiness/buildup”. Keep
your hands moving just like when you use a regular makeup brush.
IMPORTANT- Move your hand rapidly, apply light coats and you
will eliminate the problem of blotchiness easily.
Not looking natural, my application looks heavy and artificial.
I want to look like I have no makeup on.
Airbrush is the “Gold Standard” in cosmetics and the Natural
look is the paramount reason for airbrushing. Heavy and
“made-up” are the result of too much makeup being applied too
quickly. Slow-down and we will get you looking amazing.
Airbrushing tends to give the ultimate finish and the secret is
to apply using very fine coats. So what is a fine coat? A fine
coat consists of applying a very light, transparent layer which
“lightly-tints” the skin. You should see 95% skin 5% or less
makeup on a delicate coat. This is achieved easily by: Step 1-
Keep your airbrush (one airbrush stylus length) or 6” away from
your face. This allows for more even distribution of makeup and
eliminates build-up. Step 2- Apply very sheer fine delicate
coats by barely pulling back on your stylus. Delicate, Delicate,
Delicate is the mantra of Airbrushing!!! Step 3- Stop and see
your results after each coat. (This may slow down the process
and you may feel that your makeup is taking longer than it
should but you have to get the hang of airbrushing if this is
your first time, remember that once you learn it, you will
become extremely fast!) Step 4- Keep a Fan brush handy to gently
feather any imperfections or flatten any imperfections in the
spray. Light, sheer makeup is the natural look. RESULT- You will
see a beautiful radiance produced on your skin. If you feel the
makeup on your face, then chances are that you have used too
much makeup. Go slow and layer to get that natural glow.
Coverage is too light or is not hiding my blemishes.
You need extra coverage under your eyes to make blemishes less
visible. Huge Hollywood Secret- Coverage is like camouflage. We
always suggest a natural glowing look over a harsh caked-on
look. Coverage generally requires more vs. less makeup. And
instead of baking on a thick coat, apply multiple coats one coat
at a time and build up a few delicate layers instead of one fat
thick coat! Try the following strategies and you will be
pleased, guaranteed: Step 1- Use a light water-based concealer
under your eyelid area. Step 2- Gently render light transparent
coats of foundation over blemish areas only, cover the blemish
no more than 20%, if you can’t see your blemish anymore, then
you have applied too much makeup, please correct. Step 3- Now
apply a single delicate even coat all over your face and neck.
Wait 10 seconds and repeat Step 3 until you have a desired look.
We always recommend to keep checking the coverage on the mirror
between coats. Remember to feather your face with a fan brush
for the ultimate finishing touch. RESULT- You can get a very
impressive level of coverage without using too much makeup.
Always-build up your makeup in sheer delicate layers. This way,
you will surely get the best possible coverage and the most
natural look.
Fine hair on face tend to pick-up the micro-spray particles
Some of us are naturally born with a soft “peach-fuzz” and at
times this presents its challenges to makeup application. You
may have airbrushed a light delicate coat of foundation only to
find that your facial hair has picked-up some of the
micro-particles from the spray. This issue is extremely easy to
fix. Use a quality fan brush and gently fleece the facial hair;
the micro-particles will instantly brush away in seconds
revealing a lovely finish to your skin. Never hesitate to use a
Brush for a finishing touch!
Wrinkles look more pronounced around the eye and lip areas
Applying makeup on areas with deep wrinkles can be done in two
ways: Strategy 1- Go for a light natural look as follows: Step
1-When airbrushing, you want to apply the most delicate coat of
makeup when spraying on your skin. Heavy makeup and wrinkles
never go well together. Make sure to use a light moisturizer on
your skin before airbrushing, this moisturizer will give your
skin a smoother texture for airbrushing. Then use extreme care
to spray very lightly/delicately around your eye and lip areas
as you don’t want too much makeup on your wrinkles. (IMPORTANT-
NEVER SQUINT OR FORCE YOUR EYES TIGHTLY SHUT AS THIS WILL
PRONOUNCE YOUR WRINKLES, LOOK RELAXED AND THEN APPLY YOUR
AIRBRUSH MAKEUP) Step 2- Never hesitate to use a fan brush to
feather makeup around your wrinkles. We promise that this will
produce a very natural look. Strategy 2- Use a dense concealer
to fill-in the wrinkles. Call us and we will be able to help
you. Such products work well with our airbrush formulation.
First, apply concealer with the concealer brush. Then gently
airbrush over areas with a very light and delicate coat. Apply
no more than two fine layers of foundation in wrinkle areas.
Always use less makeup in wrinkle prone areas as makeup will
generally exaggerate wrinkles. Go light and layer. Also, use a
fan brush to feather your look into perfection for a fast and
easy solution.
The finish looks shiny and I want a mild flat matte finish
Two things could have gone wrong. One, you did not activate the
makeup by shaking the makeup for the first time. Shake the
makeup for 15-30 seconds the first time you use the product. If
you forgot or just barely shook the bottle, then go ahead and do
this activation process again. Also, remember to shake the
bottle 5-6 times briskly before each routine use for the best
possible result. Two, do you have oily skin? If so, please make
sure to wash your face and towel dry before applying Luminess
Air. IMPORTANT- Make sure that you are spraying 6-8 inches away
from your face. Oily skin needs to be clean and product free
before application of airbrush! Also, don’t hesitate to use a
setting powder over your Luminess foundation to help control
your oily complexion. You may call and try our Luminess Air
setting powder which will absorb any excess facial oil and help
provide a matte look.
Makeup does not last as long as I expected
Luminess Air is a high performance cosmetic which is rated to
last for more than 10 hours. Consider the following: Is your
face clean and product free before application? If not, Luminess
Air foundation will not properly bond with your skin. Are you
applying a single heavy application vs applying fine coats?
IMPORTANT- The longest applications tend to result from fresh
clean, skin.
NEVER APPLY HEAVY COATS. A SINGLE HEAVY COAT WILL HAVE A ¼
FRACTIONAL LIFE COMPARED TO 2 or 3 light coats which will easily
last 10+ hours or overnight.
Too time consuming to use, has to be an easier way
Give Luminess five days and your routine will become extremely
EASY! 95% of our customers get the hang of Airbrushing in the
first two applications and the remaining five percent takes up
to five days. Airbrushing for the first time is going to take
more time than your conventional makeup because you are learning
and applying makeup. Your second application will take a
fraction of the time. On average our typical Luminess Air
customer will take less time using airbrush than regular powders
or minerals within one week. Don’t give-up, use Luminess Air for
a week and then see the results and the time savings. Also,
never skip on cleaning your airbrush by removing
excess/left-over makeup. Spray-out any excess makeup after every
application. Think of this, would you rather wash your hands and
nails and brush-off your clothes of mineral makeup or spend 5
seconds spraying-out makeup which is left-over in your airbrush?
Airbrushing is very easy and our average user can apply their
foundation and blush in less than 60 seconds.
Do I have to clean the needle after every use?
NO- Cleaning the needle is not necessary after each and every
use. The DVD has a section related to spatter control. Every
once in a while, you will notice that your airbrush is not
giving the finest possible spray. In this event, pull out the
needle and wipe it down with a tissue, it only takes 30 seconds.
Do this before that Big special occasion for the best possible
result.
